Real Life Work Experience in a Lab Setting

Campus Copies

The Graphic Arts Department has been hard at work in the Campus Copies shop completing work for NHS Band(giant playing cards) and Dothan City Schools Central Office(workbooks). Students are learning the importance of precise work and how to invoice for various jobs.

TechnoCafe
The Culinary Arts Dept. has begun full swing in Simulated Workplace.  Students are clocking in as they arrive to class.  Sous Chefs(upper level students) are interviewing first and second year students for positions in the kitchen.  First year students have begun testing for their ServSafe Food Handlers Certification.

Seniors begin the planning process

In the past few weeks DTC Seniors have begun applying to colleges, listening to guest speakers and looking for scholarships.

‚ÄčDTC Stars Class
For the first time, DTC has partnered with Miss Barbie Nelson's class from NHS to create a Career Tech Lab experience for these special students.  Students are exploring many different careers through hands-on activities in each of the cluster areas.

DTC Stars work with the Education and Training Students along with Mr. Killingsworth to learn about the life cycle of fruits, vegetables, and flowers.  They were able to plant a sunflower and onion to watch it grow.
